Fort Bragg

An unexpected detour took us to Fort Bragg, California.  We were already there, so we googled what to do before we hit the road again.

Not bad for an ocean view motel.

And it had a mini garden.

Absolutely loved this pink / red vining flower.  Wish I knew what it was.

Then… coffee at Big River Coffee Company.

I had to pose in front of the Pippi Longstocking sign (above my head).  My sister and I loved that book when we were little girls.  Adam says the author is Scandinavian.  He loves pointing these things out & it’s fun to know. 🙂

Coffee & pastries in hand, we walked down to the beach.

So beautiful!

The gravel area behind me is known as ‘glass beach’.  Apparently the city used to use this beach as a dump (crazy!!!!) and it’s famous for its abundance of sea glass.

I don’t think there’s any sea glass left, but the coastline views are immaculate and the soft spray of ocean water from the huge crashing waves make it a worthy walk.

Nature can be stunning.

Not a bad morning for a detour.
